Late Rt. Rev. Adrian K. Ddungu (may he rest in peace) is the one who invited our foundresses from Holland to come to Masaka and arrived in Uganda in 1964, we give glory to God.  We honor our foundresses as our heroes in faith.  We hail them as the contemplative missionaries.   They came to Africa to proclaim the kingdom of God, the Good News of salvation; so that Jesus is known, loved and served in Africa.  Their monastic life touched many hearts in Uganda and the whole world through their hospitality, kindness and generosity.  May the  good Lord reward them super abundantly.

We pray to be strengthened in faith so as to maintain the Cistercian heritage and pass it on to the next generation.

Our life is a continuous prayer meant to live united with God always as we alternate with prayer (reflections, meditations, contemplations) manual work and spiritual reading

We live under the Rule of our holy father St. Benedict, with a constitution and under an Abbot (for men – monks) or under an Abbess for wonen-nuns.

For first and solemn profession, we profess the vows of Obedience, Convertion of life and Stability according to our constitution and the Rule of St. Benedict.

We celebrated the Golden Jubilee (50 Years of our existence in Uganda) in 2014 and the Diamond Jubilee (60 years)  in 2024; we give glory to God.
